From Sep 2021, there are no margin benefits for intraday traders as SEBI has fixed the same margin for both Intraday and positional traders.

A trader should have 1.6 Lakh rupees in his account to buy or sell 1 lot of Banknifty (Assuming Banknifty is at 35600).
If you can catch 100 points, you end up making only Rs.2,500 for Rs.1,60,000 capital (excluding brokerage, STT, and transaction costs).

Before introducing NSE Margin rules, traders were allowed to buy/sell 1 lot of Banknifty even with a small deposit of 20-25K.
